St Edmund’s Gift Aid Appeal 2016
At St Edmund’s we run the St Edmund’s Gift Aid Appeal, which is designed to support and sustain your daughter’s quality of education and facilities. As an Academy, we receive funding directly from the government for each student but the funding for students in Wiltshire is below the money received by schools in a majority of other educational authorities. Our expenses, however, are similar to those other schools. By way of example, our examination fees exceeded £60,000 last year. Our government funding does not cover all of our expenditure, for example minibus costs, refurbishment projects and improving technology projects whereby we aim to provide all our girls with access to up to date equipment and software.
Always at the top of our school improvement agenda is the quality of learning in the classroom and this is no different for 2016-17. The focus for 2015-16 was on improving the learning environment at the school, including displays of student work around the school. For 2016/17 you will be aware that we were successful in our bid to build a £3,000,000 new classroom block to replace the temporary mobiles. We are also planning work to the existing buildings and hope to equip all of the rooms with the very best facilities and your contribution would help us to achieve our aim.
A number of Salisbury Schools run similar schemes to our Gift Aid Appeal; they have benefited greatly from the generosity of their parents and we hope that your generosity will allow us to improve educational provision at St Edmund’s.
We would like to ask you to consider making a regular monthly, quarterly or annual gift to the school. If you gift aid your donation, St Edmund’s will receive an additional 25p for every £1 you give.
