Train to Teach Event 27th March 2018

Are you, or do you know someone who is interested in training to become a secondary school teacher?

You may be aware that we are a school that leads the way in terms of creating more school-led teacher training.  We link with several other secondary schools in the area in a consortium called ‘SUPA Salisbury’ whose goal is to make Salisbury a centre of excellence in the delivery of teacher training. This is really important to us because it means we can choose the very best talent and develop them into teachers. Being able to choose who we train as teachers helps us in delivering the best outcomes for the students at St Edmund’s Girls’ School.

We have vacancies now to start training from September 2018 and we would be very interested to hear from you if you are thinking of becoming a teacher, or know someone who is.  We’re looking for people who have (or will have) a degree, have a passion for teaching and want to inspire young people to fulfil their potential.  In particular the specific subjects that we are seeking are physics and chemistry, maths, computer science, art and English.  More information about SUPA Teachers can be found on our website

We’d love you to come in and have a chat with us about the exciting teacher training opportunities available.  If you are interested in hearing more please contact Kathryn Evans at to arrange a date and time.  Alternatively, there is a ‘Train to Teach’ Afternoon Tea Event at St Edmund’s Girls’ School taking place on the 27th March 2018 between 3pm and 5pm where SUPA Salisbury will be represented.  There will be a formal presentation repeated during this time at 3.15pm and 4.15pm with time between to ask questions and gain more information about this exciting opportunity.  No prior registration for this event is needed, but do feel free to contact Kathryn Evans in advance if you have any questions.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely,
