St Edmund’s Gift Aid Appeal 2020
At Wyvern St Edmund’s we run a Gift Aid Appeal, which is designed to support and sustain your child’s quality of education and facilities. As an Academy, we receive funding directly from the government for each student but the funding for students in Wiltshire is well below the money received by schools elsewhere in the country. Our expenses, however, are similar to those of other schools. Our government funding does not cover all of our expenditure, for example minibus costs, refurbishment projects and improving technology projects.
At the top of our school improvement agenda is always the quality of learning in the classroom and this is no different for this year. We are currently planning work to improve our catering and dining facilities and also planning to develop more social spaces for students at lunchtimes. We hope to create weather-proof outdoor areas with seating and tables for students as well as attempt to gain planning permission to increase the size of the Dining Hall. Ideally, in the next few years, we also want to re-design the PE area to provide better sports facilities for our students.
A number of Salisbury schools run similar schemes to our Gift Aid Appeal; they have benefited greatly from the generosity of their parents and we hope that your generosity will allow us to continue to improve educational provision.
We would like to ask you to consider making a regular monthly, quarterly or annual gift to the school.
If you gift aid your donation, we will receive an additional 25p for every £1 you give. If you would like to contribute to our Appeal and you are a taxpayer, please complete the Charitable Giving Gift Aid Declaration form. The Declaration needs to be completed by all taxpayers making a payment; if only one member of the household is a taxpayer then the payment needs to come from that person in order for us to be able to claim the tax refund.
Please also complete the Standing Order Mandate and return it to the School.
Copies of these forms are also available from school reception.
The Gift Aid Appeal Scheme really does help us improve the quality of experience for your child; we thank you in advance for considering contributing to the scheme.
